Christian Riese Lassen is a world-renowned international environmental artist.
He has become the most popular artist in Japan and his paintings are in great demand worldwide.
His current work focuses on brilliant undersea and marine scenes. Lassen is a masterful athlete, surfer and sailboarder and has achieved the level of world class competitor.
He has been featured on the cover of 43 magazines and has appeared in eight movies. Lassen was selected as a licensee of Hallmark Properties in 1990, joining a group of elite outside artists. And he was commissioned by the United Nations in 1992 to create a painting for a commemorative stamp on ocean preservation.
He is the Founder of Seavisionn Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to marine environment preservation. He created the Lassen Foundation which sponsors local, national and international charitable organizations for needy children and adults.
Lassen authored the book, The Art Of Christian Riese Lassen, published in 1992. The Art Of Lassen was published in 1993. A third book, Lassen Island, published in 1997, is available only in Japanese.
